This Privacy Policy describes how Locazar ("Locazar," "we," "our," or "us"), operating the Locazar website, customer application, seller application, and admin portal (collectively, the "Platform"), collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects personal information of users, including customers, sellers/merchants, and visitors ("you," "User").
This Policy is published in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and rules made thereunder; the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPDI Rules"); and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, to the extent applicable to Locazar's marketplace facilitation role.
By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
Locazar acts as the Data Fiduciary in relation to personal data processed through the Platform. Grievance Officer / Data Protection Contact: privacy@locazar.com. The Grievance Officer shall address complaints within the timelines prescribed under applicable Indian law.
Provided directly: name, mobile number, email, password/OTP credentials, shop/business name, GSTIN, PAN, business address, bank/UPI details (for sellers), delivery address and order preferences (for customers), listing photographs and descriptions, and communications with our support team.
Collected automatically: precise or approximate location data (with your permission), device information (device ID, OS, IP address, browser type), usage and clickstream analytics, and log/crash diagnostic data.
From third parties: payment confirmation data from payment gateways/UPI providers (we do not store full card details), business verification data used for seller onboarding, and data from Google/Firebase services used for authentication, analytics, hosting, and push notifications.
Categories such as financial information (bank account/UPI ID) and passwords are treated as Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) under applicable rules and processed with enhanced safeguards and your explicit consent.
We process personal data to: create and manage accounts; enable hyperlocal discovery of nearby shops and products; facilitate orders and communication between customers and sellers; process payments and prevent fraud; send transactional notifications and, where opted-in, promotional communications; improve Platform performance and security through analytics; and comply with legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.
We do not sell personal data. We may share information between customers and sellers strictly as necessary to complete an order; with service providers supporting hosting (e.g., Firebase/Google Cloud), payments, SMS/OTP delivery, analytics, and customer support under confidentiality obligations; with payment gateways/banks to process transactions; with government authorities or law enforcement where required by law; and in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, subject to equivalent privacy protections.
Certain service providers (e.g., cloud hosting/analytics infrastructure) may process data outside India. Where such transfers occur, we take reasonable steps to ensure an adequate level of protection, consistent with the DPDP Act, 2023 and any government notifications restricting transfers to specific countries.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, meet statutory retention requirements, and resolve disputes. Upon expiry of the retention period or withdrawal of consent (where no other legal ground applies), we delete or anonymize the data, unless retention is required by law.
Subject to the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to access a summary of personal data we hold about you; correct or update inaccurate data; request erasure of data no longer necessary for its purpose; withdraw consent at any time; escalate unresolved grievances to the Data Protection Board of India; and nominate an individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity. We implement reasonable security practices and procedures as mandated under Section 43A of the IT Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, including encryption in transit, access controls, authentication mechanisms, and regular security reviews. In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India, as applicable, in accordance with the DPDP Act.
Our website and apps use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and analytics; you can manage cookies via your browser settings. Location access is used solely to power hyperlocal discovery and delivery-related features and can be controlled through your device settings at any time.
The Platform is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental/guardian consent, as required under the DPDP Act.
In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the DPDP Act, 2023, complaints may be directed to our Grievance Officer at privacy@locazar.com. Acknowledgment within 24 hours; resolution within 15 days (or such period as prescribed by applicable law).
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or business operations. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or email, where required by law.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Courts at the location of Locazar's registered office shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from this Policy.
